About the Index
The Automotive Index is the first independent
worldwide index of the automotive industry. The
index was launched by Bayern Innovativ Ltd, a
publicly held company initiated by the Bavarian
State Government in collaboration with the
partners AMETVS, Quebec, Canada and the office
of Economy of the Canton St. Gallen, Switzerland.
It is derived from the cooperation network BAIKA,
the Bavarian Innovation and Cooperation
Initiative for the Automotive Suppliers Industry
which is the most internationally renowned
project that Bayern Innovativ has in action.
The catalogue offers rapidly accessible high
quality information about companies and
institutions with their various products,
technologies and locations. You have the
opportunity to search for automotive companies,
research institutes, associations as well as
government and chambers.
In order to also be found, you may register free
of charge and all registrations will be
authenticated to ensure quality and relevance to

is a publicly held company that was
initiated by the Bavarian State Government
in 1995. It was jointly set up by politics,
science and industry as a corporation for
innovation and technology transfer and is
located in Nuremberg.Bayern Innovativ’s main objective is to
support the initiation of innovations
primarily in small and medium sized
enterprises as well as in international
giants. This is accomplished by initiating
business driven project cooperations across
disciplines and branches in light of the

 The
Special Vehicle and Transportation Equipment
Association (AMETVS, in engl.:
SVTEA) is the leading organization in the development
of the transport equipment industry in the Northeastern
part of North America. AMETVS/SVTEA focuses
on three industrial sectors: MOTOR VEHICLES,
COMMERCIAL VEHICLES including rail, and RECREATIONAL
VEHICLES. These priorities allow SVTEA/AMETVS
to promote the creation of manufacturing niche
markets with superior added value. A recognized
network of excellence, SVTEA/AMETVS values innovation,
manufacturing performance and the increase of
competencies as criteria upon which is based
a sustainable development of the industry.
 The
Office of Economy of the Canton St.Gallen
understands itself as a public service company
for the support and promotion of companies.
Its mission is to boost regional economic development
and improve competitiveness in the canton, while
keeping an open mind
that goes beyond the national boundaries and
focusing effort into cultivating relationships
with other countries. Its duties are among other
things: Network information and business consulting
service for companies, project coordination
and start-up planning, business development
and various documentation and support services.
